
Recently, some of the largest airlines in the united kingdom and Ireland including British Airways, Ryanair and easyJet, have announced that the introduction of several new routes, well ahead of the busy summer holiday season. For instance, easyJet has announced the release of services on five new routes, which comprise of flights between Edinburgh and Nice (France), services connecting Glasgow and Faro (Portugal) and flights to Split, located on the increasingly popular Dalmatian coast of Croatia. Notably, about three of the new routes will be based at the Bristol Airport. According to the estimation by easyJet, not less than 47,000 passengers can fly on these flights in a year.
Earlier during this week, British Airways has also said in a statement that the airline was expanding its short-haul service. The press release sent by the carrier announces the launching of a brand new route to Dublin from London’s highly popular City Airport, in the Docklands. Later during this year, British Airlines has also planned to open up a brand new route connecting the Docklands and Nice, in addition to Edinburgh.
Following the move by its other fellow airlines, Ryanair too has announced some expansion of its own. As per the recent announcements, the carrier will commence offering regularly scheduled flights between Stansted and Rimini and Beziers from June. In addition, travel experts also advise Britons not to underestimate continental low-cost airlines like Spain’s Clickair, Hungary’s Wizz Air and Slovakia’s SkyEurope. Interestingly, most of these carriers demonstrate a strong presence in the UK, in addition to offering the most competitive rates on these most popular routes.
